madness #18: “XTC” – Halle-Takeover during “TILT” at Zentralwäschrei, Zürich
Somewhere between Street Parade and Zwingli’s phantom we find ourselves on the spectrum rejoining bodily and spiritual ecstasy. 8 performers from different disciplines and backgrounds contribute to a long durational performance and installation that will be embedded in the club event TILT at Zentralwäscherei Zürich.
Longer pieces and shorter interventions exploring the manifold facets of the XTC spectrum in all its intensities will unfold throughout the night. Expect eerie drones, eclectic drums, breath and voice, moving and standing bodies, harpsichord, organ and strobe lights. The audience is invited to explore and experience the happening in different ways

madness #19 “Alpaufzug” at Baby Angel, Zürich
Alpaufzug is the seasonal tradition of driving cattle to higher altitudes in summer so they can graze on fresh mountain grass. For this nineteenth edition of the #workoutjazz Madness festival series, we invite you to join us on our own alpine cattle drive — one dedicated to questions raised by musical folklore traditions.
What even is authentic folklore? How can we reclaim folk music from right-wing nationalist movements? Can we find a key to subversion within folkloric artistic expression?
By bringing together a wide range of artistic voices from across Europe and beyond, we aim to challenge common (mis)understandings. Walls of electronic noise will clash with the charming sounds of wooden recorders. Many different winds will be blown. Structure and chaos, madness and dance.
